Living the traditions of our ancestors
Interested in the lifestyle of a high mountain farm? Meet our family. Enjoy nature, take care of farm chores and enjoy local delicacies with a view of the mountains. Our farm, situated at 1230 metres above sea level, has a long tradition. Today, three generations have lived here. Farming, forestry and tourism are our profession, and your well-being with us is our mission.
Our ancestors were already involved in forestry and livestock farming.
We have also branched out into organic farming, cured meat processing, tourism, carpentry and herbalism. All eight members of the family work together to care for the animals, the crops and the forest, and we are all dedicated to our guests. We will be happy to sit with you while your children play with ours.
The aroma of the forest in our rooms
Our rooms are furnished in a simple country style, with home-made furniture made from mountain larch and spruce wood, which grows at 1500 metres above sea level. Do you want to fall asleep every day like you're among the Alpine peaks? We can custom-make an Alpine bed for you from High Alpine Larch wood. Decorated to your taste and treated with wax instead of varnish, it will bring the primordial nature and the aroma of the mountain forest into your home - a little piece of the Alps for every day.
Interested in how we produce our honey, our cured meats and our dairy products?
What is it like to work in a barn, a sawmill or a carpentry workshop? Watch the animals being fed, mowed, the garden tilled, or go and tend the fairies yourself, hoe potatoes, drive the cattle to pasture, or milk your breakfast and collect eggs. You will see cows, calves, piglets, goats, chickens, rabbits and a horse, and children will especially enjoy the chicks, bunnies, as well as our dog and kittens.
EXPLORE THE SURROUNDINGS
Our farm is situated on the Solčava Panoramic Road, which winds through some of the most beautiful mountain views in Slovenia. Cycle through pastures and forests, walk to Potočka Zijavka and visit the Ice cave man Museum, follow Kristof the shepherd boy to Lintver the dragon's cave, and taste homemade cured meat delicacies and refresh yourself with spring water.
